TONDU METHODIST CHURCH 2014
As part of the "Open Doors" events in the Bridgend area I was approached by Tondu Methodist Church to arrange a small display of part of my large collection of bricks celebrating the Brickworks of the Tondu Area. Focusing on eleven brickworks which once surrounded the past industrial village of Tondu, the exhibition comprised of some thirty-four examples of bricks along with interpretation panels for each of the local works. The display in the new exhibition space at Tondu Methodist Church was open to the public on 26th and 27th September 2014 and many local people came along to share their memories of the brickworks and to view the exhibits. Here are the key elements of the display with scaled-down versions of the 70cm x 50cm interpretive panels and photographs of the exhibition area. Click on each image to enlarge.
